You faded out,

Stopped coming around.

And I just let you go.

The turbulent world tore you away,

Stealing your smile from me.

But it was never mine.

Not when I told you my secrets,

Not when I kissed your arm on accident

When we saw that bee.

You and I are made of different stuff.

You’re light and bright and kind.

Happiness is enough for you.

I’m murky and solemn and thrive on emotion.

Thrive on pain.

I walked away,

Left town.

And you just let me go.
