Her lipsticks smudged.

His eyes wander.

Yet she clings like a damn dryer sheet.

What does she want?

The fairytale? The lie

“I love you”?

It’s empty words,

A broken promise.

Her smile is

Plastered on innocence

In loves absence.

If it’s gone then

Why is she holding his hand?

Their eyes don’t meet anymore.

Their hands holding others.

Their lips whispering sincerer words,

Clearer words into others’ ears.

Only to drift back together and kiss lying lips.

Because of fear.

Because of reputation.

Because how do you say goodbye.
